Just an update

  • Listening to: The Weepies
  • Reading: Random shit for school.
  • Watching: Supernatural S2E16
Soo... How's everyone doing?

Nothing special going on here really. My new pc got delayed because one part wasn't on stock anymore (The bitches sold it to another customer during the 2 day wait before they could sell windows 7 >.> ) so I'll be inactive till November 12 or so. That's the current expected delivery date.

Also, I've gotta study heaps because of the upcoming tests (Nov 2 -> Nov 9) because a part of them matter for my finals (which I take next year) :work:
Can't afford screwing up at school now.

Last but not least - If you need some music to relax or something, get the album titled 'Say I am You' by the band called 'The Weepies'. I found it by a friend of mine who had it show up in her MSN - It's worth checking out. Plenty of it on Youtube too.
It's great, and very relaxing. Great while studying or trying to get to sleep.

Not your style? Switch to the album titled 'Relapse' by Eminem. It's great - especially the song called 'Same Song and Dance'.

Either way, have fun and everything

Computer Died

  • Listening to: Eminem o.O
  • Watching: Supernatural Season 2 (ep. 2)
heya

My computer stopped working today (before you're asking: using my dad's PC to post this) so I'll be less active for about 2 weeks, up to a month.

This probably means we're finally ordering the last few parts for my new one, so all in all it's not that bad really :XD:

Luckily I could get it running a bit (not completely flawless though) with a Linux live-CD so I am making a backup of some of my things (music etc) on another hard disk.

I'll post once I've got the new one up and running.

It's been a while :o

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I wrote somethin here :o

So, I just finished my design for *revesburger's contest yesterday eve. I'm satisfied with the result, but I think I've made better things in PS.

Right now I'm staying at my grandparents for a few days, helping them out and stuff. I'm also working on some photographs I've made the past year - I never got around uploading them yet.
I think I'll upload them today or tomorrow, we'll see.

Also, my father has agreed to buy a new computer, so I'll be more active with my 3D again soon :D

Guess that's pretty much it for now,

Enjoy your holidays :#1:

I Finally have my cellphone now!

It arrived Wednesday, and so far it's perfect. Everything runs smooth, including all the custom/new applications I installed on it :XD:

Another thing I wanted to mention is that - as you've probably noticed - I'm not really uploading anything any more the last few weeks. However, that'll change :D

I've been working on a few websites for people, and I'll submit those to the Designs and Interfaces -> Web Interfaces category.

I'll keep a list here on their status, for those of you who're interested.
If noone is interested, well then I've got a nice to-do list for myself :)

TDJ-Webdesign - Status: 80%
Adding last pieces of content, Final tweaks including:
-Better transition to white on the sides
-Fix the big empty space at the bottom of the page (won't see it on the screenshot).
(Outdated) Screenshot - [link]

Zeker & Scheppen - Status: 99.99% [in cooperation with a friend of mine]
Get the content from our employees to add to the site.

My Portfolio Site - Status: 10%

Replace images used in the layout to fit the new colour scheme.
Write the content. Currently lowest priority

WROTTE - Status: 25%
Decide which of my previews will be used for the full website.

My school's "student council" website.
Change their schematic version to a real one.
Make sure they can add their own content after it's done (most likely Joomla! based website).

A friend of mine's Clan site - 85%
Fix the joomla/Forum (visual-)integration.

Guess that's it - Back to work :)

Cellphone/PPC + Computer issues + 3D on DeviantART

Sun Mar 8, 2009, 5:46 AM
  • Mood: Suffering
  • Listening to: Vernian Process - Alchemist's Vision
  • Reading: The Dutch book 'Giph,' for school
  • Watching: Heroes Season 4 ^_^
I've ordered my new cellphone :D

It's a HTC Touch 3G

I got a lot of money for my birthday, so instead of buying a standard phone I decided to go for some additional features and gimmick :XD:

Just have to wait until the 21st of March, because they can't deliver it earlier in the Netherlands :(

---------------------------------
Update:

My PC got really really slow so I decided to reinstall windows.
So I made a backup of some important files, searched for my Windows Product Key and formatted the whole disk in the Windows installation. But then, AFTER the installer formatted the whole disk it suddenly mentions my key is invalid :anger:
That really pisses me off as I've paid for that key: it's fully legal >.>

So now I've got Linux running (Ubuntu 8.10) and I'm gonna report the situation to Microsoft. I hope they just give me a new key. I know it sounds unlikely to happen, but my uncle once had the same thing happening and they just gave him a new one without further questions.

Either way, this means I wont be able to use Vue for a while. Same thing goes for pretty much all my games and other stuff >.>

However, this did finally make me install Linux after promoting it pretty often without actually using it :XD:

Update 2: I know why the installer said my key was invalid now: My key was an OEM key, and the disc was Retail. The only difference between those is their price, but if you have an OEM key you need an OEM disc, and Retail key only works with Retail disc. I had an OEM key and Retail disc so that failed :(

Either way, it will take longer then expected before I can use Windows on my own PC again.

This came from :icon3d-asuarus:=3D-Asuarus' latest journal. Read the original Here!

Do you see much 3D on DA?

Are you tired of not getting enough faves, watches, and pageviews?

Do you want the rest of DA to realise that 3D art can be just as good as every other medium out there?

Well that's what we are going to attempt with this project!

The IDEA: To show the rest of the DA world that the 3D Community is truly a big and beautiful thing!

The WHY: Join us with this, You will not only represent your art medium but also your choice of software, Show the creators of DA, this club and your software truly what we can do.

The HOW: Each and everyone who is dedicated to showing off the 3D world is going to make a character. They will then be collaborated together to show us all as one, hopefully huge, society of nerds alike. :D

The WHEN: As of today this is starting, and it doesn't have an end date, everyone can have their character added to it when it is completed, this kind of thing should never have an end.

The RULES

:bulletblue: Any 3D artist can join this. You do not have to be a member of the club, You do not have to like the people in the club, if you are a 3D artist then you deserve to be in this as much as anyone else.

:bulletblue: Your character does not have to look like you but it must portray how you would like others to see you.

:bulletblue: You can have any one prop you would like to help represent you a bit more.

:bulletblue: Your character can be in any position you would like as long as one foot or hand is on the ground.

:bulletblue: Any 3D software you like, postwork is allowed but it must be visibly at least 50% 3D.

:bulletblue: It must be rendered on a transparent background.

:bulletblue: Please state the main 3D program you have used.

:bulletblue: So to keep some consistency please put your main light where the camera is...

:bulletblue: When sending us the final picture please have the resolution 1024*1024.

:bulletblue: The final image must be png format.

:bulletblue: No mature, this is for all DA viewings and the youngest is 13.

The Outcome: At the moment the idea is that we will place them together by software, this way there will be no disputes as always about particular programs users getting it easier than others. Names of each user will be on the image on the sides. We will put each group into what will look a polaroid picture and stick them onto a corkboard, digitally. If you have any ideas on how you would like this to be scene then please by all means note the club and we will take it into consideration.

The Supporters: To show your support for this idea give it a feature in your journal, anyone that does it will get their icon shown here until the next club project.
